Administration invites people to attend Quds Day rallies

The event, traditionally held on the last Friday of Ramadan, aims to express condemnation of Israeli crimes and support for Palestinian rights.

Tehran, Karafarinane Eghtesad – The administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian has invited the general public to participate en masse in this year's International Quds Day rallies.

“Quds Day is a day when the Muslim nation, in unison with the oppressed Palestinians, declares its resistance and unity against oppression and occupation,” the Government Information Council said in a statement on Thursday evening, adding that “the day is a symbol of Islamic awakening, the ideal of seeking justice, and defending the rights of oppressed nations”.

Commemorating more than 200 journalists and media personnel killed in Palestine and Lebanon since the beginning of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, the Council invites all freedom-loving people of Iran to deliver the message of resistance and support for the Palestinian people to the world with a passionate and united presence in the march, the statement added.

It also called on all institutions and organizations to participate in raising awareness about the importance of Al-Quds Day, saying “Our unity on this day is a reflection of Islamic dignity and the defense of human dignity, justice and the defense of the oppressed.”

The statement emphasized that “the march is not only a response to the cry of the oppressed people” but also a manifestation of “the Iranian nation's commitment to human and Islamic ideals”.

The annual Quds Day rallies are held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan. Processions are planned across Iran on March 28.
