Tehran, Karafarinane Eghtesad – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the Islamic Revolution surprised the Western world, noting that Iran’s political system has since developed with stability and strength.
The Leader made the remark on Wednesday as he addressed a ceremony marking the 36th anniversary of the demise of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.
Few expected the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini to successfully expel American and Zionist influence from Iran, given their long-standing dominance in the country, Ayatollah Khamenei said.
If a government had compromised with the West, he said, foreign powers might have regained influence and pursued their interests in Iran.
Imam Khomeini’s uncompromising stance, however, ensured the preservation of Iran’s sovereignty and ideological independence, the Leader said.
According to Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran has confronted and thwarted over a thousand orchestrated plots.
He praised the nation’s resilience in resisting external attempts to undermine its governance and principles.
Leader strongly advises U.S. not to interfere in Iran’s uranium enrichment
Ayatollah Khamenei underscored the multifaceted significance of nuclear technology, noting that it transcends mere energy production and serves as a cornerstone for numerous scientific disciplines.
He emphasized that uranium enrichment remains the linchpin of Iran’s nuclear program, a focal point persistently scrutinized by the enemies.
Reflecting on past challenges, he recalled Iran’s struggles to procure 20% enriched fuel, citing American unreliability as a learning lesson.
The Leader lambasted U.S. policies, contending that Washington’s primary objective is to obstruct Iran’s nuclear development and impose dependency on foreign entities.
Ayatollah Khamenei categorically dismissed such coercive tactics, affirming that the U.S. is unable to impede Iran’s nuclear progress.
The Leader urged the U.S. to desist from meddling in Iran’s uranium enrichment endeavors.
The slogan “We Can” plays an important role in Iran’s national independence, he said, noting that the U.S. plan on the Iranian nuclear issue is 100% against the slogan.
Leader urges Muslim countries to take decisive action in defense of Palestine
Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the atrocities committed by the Israeli regime against Palestinians.
Vehemently condemning the Israeli regime’s actions in the Gaza Strip, he termed them as staggering crimes against humanity.
Israel launched the brutal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, carried out a retaliatory operation against the regime. So far, at least 54,470 Palestinians have been killed and over 124,600 wounded in Gaza.
The Leader said that the United States is complicit in the oppression and must be expelled from the region.
Ayatollah Khamenei called on Islamic nations to abandon neutrality and take decisive action in defense of Palestine.
Silence and diplomatic caution are no longer viable options, he said, warning that any Islamic government that lends support to Israel will bear an indelible mark of disgrace.
The Leader further emphasized that reliance on the Zionist regime does not guarantee security for any country, asserting that the collapse of the regime is inevitable and will materialize in due course.
