Iran ranks 4th in the world in knowledge production of medicinal plants

Tehran, Karafarinane Eghtesad – Secretary of the Development of Sciences and Technologies Office of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicine of Science and Technology Vice-Presidency said that in 2020, Iran ranked first in the region and fourth in the world after China, USA and India in knowledge production of medicinal plants.

Mohammad Hassan Osareh on Wednesday at the 9th National Congress on Medicinal Plants said that Iran's ranking is improved in the field of knowledge production in scientific articles in the field of traditional and complementary medicine.

He added that in 2013, some 170 articles and in 2020, 485 articles from Iran were indexed in the Scopus citation database, according to which Iran ranks fourth after China, the United States and India and first in the region.
