Tehran, Karafarinane Eghtesad – Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas and the Israeli regime are said to have agreed to a deal that will stop fighting in Gaza and lead to a prisoner swap between the two sides.
No official statements have been released as of yet. Multiple officials, speaking with different news agencies on condition of anonymity, have said Hamas and Israel have agreed to the terms of an agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza.
Hours earlier, Hamas told Al Jazeera Arabic that its delegation delivered its approval of a deal.
Negotiations to reach an agreement have been taking place with the mediation of the US, Qatar and Egypt.
According to Reuters news agency, citing an official familiar with the talks, the proposed agreement would take place over three stages.
In the first phase, set to last six weeks, Israeli forces would gradually withdraw from central Gaza, and Palestinians would return to their homes in the north of the strip.
Also during the first phase, Hamas would release 33 Israeli prisoners including all female soldiers and civilians. In return, the regime would release 30 and 50 Palestinian prisoners respectively for every Israeli civilian and every soldier.
A ceasefire deal puts an end to more than 15 months of Israeli genocide in Gaza where at least 46,707 Palestinians have been killed and 110,265 others wounded.
