
Tehran, Karafarinane Eghtesad – Two people have been confirmed dead after two small planes collided midair in the U.S. state of Arizona on Wednesday.
The collision, involving a Cessna and a Lancair, took place at the Marana Regional Airport located northwest of the city of Tucson, according to American authorities.
No further details were immediately available.
An investigation is underway into the collision which is the latest in a series of deadly aviation incidents in the United States over the past several weeks.
The deadliest such incident took place on January 29 when an Army helicopter and an American Airlines flight coming in to land at Washington's Ronald Reagan National Airport collided midair. All 67 people abroad the two planes were killed as the result. The collision was also the deadliest aviation disaster since 2001.
